Top Laptop Sony – Review
What should I do with my laptop I cant power off?
So basically I have this laptop laying around I want to put to use. The only problem is that the laptop takes a lot of messing with to get it to boot up, I have to power cycle it like 50 times before it will kick on. So I was wondering what do you guys think I should do with it, its got pretty decent specs its an acer aspire 5515, 1.6ghz, 160gb hard drive, 3gb ddr ram, ati video card w/ windows 7 ultimate right now. So its a pretty decent laptop except that its an acer and sucks at turning on, I already have a media center desktop hooked up to my flat screen, I was thinking about putting windows server on it, since I can get it free through my university? Maybe make it a network storage center w/ my printers hooked up so its a print server? Any ideals on what I could use it for? There will be no best answer I am just looking for ideals.
it doesn’t matter if I put it to sleep or stand-by it still takes alot to get it to turn back on, I already know its a hardware problem that cant be fixed (the mobo has been short-circuited) so there is no fix and the time and money to replace the motherboard is more than the laptop is worth.
