How can I find out what Processors are compatable with my motherboard? I have an Intel d945gcfg1 motherboard and i want to upgrade my Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4300 to a quad core if i can. But I can’t seem to find the info anywhere.

The main reason I want to upgrade is for Gaming purposes, The 8500GT did me good for the past year or so but now its sluggish in most games where it was once AWESOME lol, and i did reformat my comp a few weeks ago

I am computer shopping and I was just curious on a pretty basic matter. The Mac I am looking at getting has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and the Sony Vaio I am looking at has the Intel i5 processor. What’s the difference in the two? Is one better than the other? And my last question is what is the newest Intel processor, the i7?
