How do i find the correct Intel PRO adapter to use for my computer?

I am trying to connect my Emachines T3638 desktop to the internet but I am having trouble. I spoke to a technician who had me download some new drivers but they will not download and the error message says that no Intel PRO adapters are present on the computer. I went to the Intel site but there are tons of adapters and I can’t figure out which is the correct one. My OP is windows vista.
