The previous owner of my laptop changed the background for the web browser. How do I change it back?

As I said the background was changed on the web browser. Its always a white background with pink font. How can i change it to show whatever the default background is for a website. I have firefox and internet explorer and it the same on both. Oh and there kind of older versions of each, if that helps.

Printer Media, Computers & Internet

Why can't I print from the internet?

When I print a web page (one with an advertisement across the top) from internet explorer the printer only prints the advertisement on the top (in black and white because that’s the only ink I have), "Page 1 of 1", the title of the web page, the wed address, and the date. All of which are at the tops/bottoms of the pages. Other than that the whole page is missing. The entire page except for the first inch or so does not get printed. Even when most of the content is black and white text. I can print word documents (if they’re black and white) on Word fine but I can’t print anything beyond those few things on IE.

I went through printing preferences and properties and everything looked fine to me.

My computer is running windows xp media center edition sp2 and my web browser is IE(Internet Explorer) 6.0.2…(other digits) with sp2.

No sound in any of my internet browsers (Firefox, Explorer)…?

So I recently bought a printer at Walmart, and when I installed it, I believed it ruined the sound on my computer. Before I had installed the printer, sound was working fine. However, after installing the printer, I completely heard no sound, so I went to the Dell website (since I own a Dell desktop running on Windows XP). Afterwards, I deleted the IDT driver and reinstalled the original sigmatel driver on my computer and it worked. I now hear sound on my windows media player, Itunes, etc… But, I can’t seem to hear anything in my internet browser, though (Mozilla Firefox 4.0). I tried checking to see if I heard any sound on Internet Explorer, and can’t hear anything on there either. Can someone guide me in the right direction and tell me what to do in order to get sound in my internet browser? By the way, I have updated Adobe Flash Player and Java. In addition, I’ve tried downloading a K-lite mega codec, and had no luck either…

How do locate the source of Google hijacking?

Ever since spyware was installed the other day (and I removed it), Google has been redirecting to other spyware websites, and it says ‘analitic-checks.google.com’ in the status bar. I have used every spyware removal program under the sun.

Here is my process report from HijackThis:

How do I change HTTP request headers in internet explorer?

How do i change HTTP request headers in internet explorer without downloading software. I’m a little computer illiterate, so please explain your answer thoroughly. Also, what does it mean to change header value?

Why is internet explorer getting slower?

Okay here’s the problem.

I got a brand new 300 Gb hard drive barely three months ago. Installed everything that’s needed. Media, open office, movie maker, internet, printer, anti spyware etc.

I’m using internet explorer and I’ve noticed over the past couple of days It appears to be slowing down. Before and after rebooting my PC it’s still slower than it needs to be.

Now I have some relatively powerful anti threat software on my PC.

I use Malware bytes, Avira, Ccleaner and Comodo registry cleaner. I also use Start page.com as my homepage. (start page claims to be more private/more secure for web browsing) After running all these.

First Malware bytes system scan, Then Avira system scan, Then the Ccleaner and finally Comodo system cleaner. I shut down the machine, restarted it and opened IE only onto start page. I don’t use google search anymore(too much spam)

Now after all this I still notice only after about 30 minutes Internet Explorer still slows down incredibly. (btw all the scan cleaned up everything with not apparent damage) But the web browsing is still noticeably slow.

Is there something on my pC that isn’t being caught or is Internet Explorer having some problem of it’s own? And if so how do I fix it?

PC is about 5 years old. Emachines computer. CRT monitor. HDD only about 3 months old, has 300 gigabytes of space and only 10 gigabytes of space has been used so far.
Any other specs you might need to diagnose this. Please let me know.

Thanx.
Oh and btw. Two things.

1. I’ve already cleared my cache and internet history MULTIPLE TIMES. And I’m still experiencing huge slowdowns. :-(

2. I used firefox on an old hard drive that was nearly five years old.(still have it) and for some odd reason firefox COMPLETELY CRASHED and I had to uninstall it from the hard drive permanently. I’m afraid of something similar happening to this new hard drive. So I don’t know if that’s an option.
