Removable Disk not showing up in Computer but is recognized?

So I am trying to connect my Sony Camera with my laptop with a USB plug. When I plugged it into the USB port, I hear the sound from my laptop meaning that it’s recognized. However, it is not found in My Computer. I went to Disk Management after searching for solutions in Google and so I changed the drive letters but nothing worked. It is still No Media. Just to let you know I am using Windows 7 and my USB port is not damaged. I tried with other USB plugs and it worked. I am already in my admin account, which is the only account in this laptop. I am trying to import the pictures from the camera into my laptop. Is there another way to have the Removable Disk appear in Computer?

I also found out that when I clicked "Devices and Printers" in Control Panel, the Sony Camera does appear there, as Sony DSC. So I right-clicked it > Browse Files, and tried too click Removable Disk (V:). But it is not clickable!

Then I went to Windows Media Player and tried to open the files in the camera. In there, I can see "Removable Disk". I clicked it and "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (V:)" pops up.

Please tell me some other suggestions I can do to try to fix this. I connected the camera to my laptop and it worked just fine last time. This happened when I tried yesterday. I also tried it at two other laptops and it worked there, but how come not in mine?

I did the restarting method but nothing changed. Also, I don’t think the memory card in the camera is locked since it is able to connect to the other two laptops I have tried.

I have also tried uninstalling the host controller as suggested. Every other USB is working except this one Sony Camera?

How can you remove a stuck object from a laptop CD drive?

I accidentally put that fake plastic memory card that comes in laptops into the CD drive opening and now it is stuck. I have tried tipping the computer over and shaking it out, but it still doesn’t work. My CD drive is not the type that ejects…it is the skinny opening where the CD just slides in. Pressing eject doesn’t work either. Any help would be appreciated!

hp officejet 7310 all-in-one – transfer images gives 'no media' message?

This worked up to a couple weeks ago. I have the memory card from the camera
inserted in the HP Officejet 7310xi and using either HP Solutions Center or HP Image
Zone to transfer the images to the computer, I get the same message in red
letters -’No Media’. I can print and scan using HP Solutions Center and I can
perform the same transfer images function from Picasa so I know that there is
nothing wrong with the connections between the computer and the HP Officejet.
Also the HP Photo function on the Printer/scanner lists the transfer image function in the Menu but the function is not activated so cannot be chosen.

I suspect that the problem must be in the software caused by some update that was automatically downloaded. This happened once before about 2 years ago when IE 7 was downloaded (and which I never use), the HP SW – Solutions Center and photo editor ceased to work.

HP customer support cannot even under stand the problem – they suggested I power on/off for one.
