I’ll be mainly using this computer for photoshop and photoediting

I have a Dell 2309W and it has an HDMI input with sound options (input/output line). Should I plug my speakers into the monitor or the PC? Whats the difference. Will the HDMI make the sound better? I have a XPS 8100

i pluged the speaker in my pc and yet there is still no sound.. i checked the sound options and it says no device was found.
what am i going to do??

I am currently getting no sound what so ever from my speakers i have checked the vol in the sound options etc and it says no audio device. where can i download some more drivers?
