Just bought a new MAC to replace my old PC and my external hard drive is being shown as a read only drive when I plug it in. How can I change it back to a writable drive without losing my data? The PC is dead and can’t be used as a file storage device so I can completely reformat the drive for MAC only use. If you need additional information just ask. Thanks in advance.

i’m trying to print a series of posters in some medium size where the colour red is the main colour, and i’ve gone to this printer and they’ve told me i need to convert the colour scheme of my pictures to the CMYK scheme and then send them the files. i’ve done this in photoshop but when i do so, the red colour turns into an ugly pinkish tone. i don’t want my final posters to look like this, i want them to look at least close to what i designed, red is the central point of this posters so if this colours is not really printed as intended, then there is no point in printing them at all, this colour coming out right is essential. so i was wondering how do people print professioanlly their flyers and pictures where you can clearly see how the red is very very red-looking, is it the type of printing that affects the color scheme that should be used? i didnt as ask what printing method they use, but should i ask for a different one if i want this colour to come out right? if so, which method?
my pictures are mainly photographs ive taken where the colours black, red and white are all of the colours that you can see, red being the most important one, and you can see gradients of red darkening until it’s black and you can also see reds lightening until theyre white.
now, i know about the size and dpi and all that, there is no problem about that, unless it affects the printing method.
there is also this one single poster i want to print out, where the background is pure black, then there is only text in pure red, what printing method should i use here? since it doesnt seem as complex as the other posters. i ask this cos when i went to the printing shop i also came across a place where this guy was printing layers of colours over eachother, so i thought this could be the right method for this kind of pictures.

Ok, I’ll try to be concise. Looking to buy the new 27 inch iMac with Quad Core.
Is it a capable gaming computer? Will the graphics card and 4 gigs of RAM be good enough or do I have to spend more money on top of the 1999 dollars. I have access to many mac compatible games *cough* torrents *cough* and I want to know if I can play them on this thing right out the box.
What is the best way to get HD content on these things when they don’t have a stinkin’ blu ray drive? I know about VLC media player and can get movies the same way I get games but I would like to play official (which is usually better) content on this thing as it will be next to my couch in my living room. The screen resolution on this thing is better than HD yet I don’t know how to play HD on it without hooking it up as a TV and I already got a plasma.
Do Logitech game controllers (USB) work on it? I have one with dual analogs and I would like to keep using it.
Ummmm, oh yeah, and they only show one cord coming out the back of the thing but with a common hookups like external hard drives and printers and stuff, does it look like it’s draped out the bottom and messy or can you hook it up in such a way that keeps a clean minimalist look?
I am Mac literate despite having PC’s my whole life so don’t be afraid to get technical!

Hi all,
I am very new to print medium. I have to make standing banner of around 2300mm by 700mm.
There is one big image that needs to go all over. I am using Illustrator to do this.
Issue is what format image i need to use in Illustrator and how? I edit the image in photoshop and have to enlarge it as the size of banner is very big. The printer said the image is of poor quality.
What am i supposed to do. Pls help me. I tried to look for tutorial but was not successful.

I am booting into Linux Mint via a USB Flash drive, so Linux is NOT installed on this computer. However, I am curious to see if I can mount the Windows hard drive on this computer (the only hard drive on it) from Linux Mint this way since Linux isn’t actually installed.
