I am taking an online class and had to submit my work to my professor as an attachment. She said she couldn’t open it and to save it as a word document. How to I do that if I have Office writer, and not Microsoft Word?

Is there a way to find and replace or something to delete any sentence in Word beginning with a certain thing?
I have a very large word document (a few hundred pages) and throughout it it has several notes inside brackets. I want to delete all the notes. For example:
This is a sentence.
(I want to delete this)
This is another sentence.
And another.
(I want to delete this too.)
And yet another.
Is there a way to do this without having to go through the document manually deleting every one?
Thanks for the answers; the ctrl and delete thing was what I was already doing. I was just hoping there was something like the ^$ for ‘any character’ or ^# for ‘any digit’ to work for any sentence…
But anyway, where would I start looking to learn how to write a program to do it, like awesomisitist suggested?

I work in an accounts department for a company, each week we pay some of our clients and staff expenses via BACS.
We then send out remittances advices in the post after printing them off. Our current method of printing remittance advices is an excel spreadsheet mail merged into a word document.
My manager has asked me whether it would be possible to email remittance advices out to our staff instead of posting them, but i haven’t a clue how to go about this, can anybody help?
