Sorry to bother you alot but the reason why qx9650 is more expensive then the normal q9650 is because it has a better cooling fan?

I did not say you need a new motherboard – I said you need a good motherboard. You need a motherboard that allows you to access the features of the CPU and the Front Side Bus (FSB) and voltages to do any real overclocking. As for the QX9650, I have learned that you do not need to spend the extra 600 dollars on it, instead buy the q9550, and a custom CPU cooler like a “scythe mungen 2″ and with a good ASUS motherboard you can overclock really high 3.4/3.6 no problem, do your research, good luck!

No man, the extreme has an unlocked multiplyer.
For better overclckoning.
De Q9650 has a MP of 9. De extreme wil go higher in MP, so with a nice FSB you can easyer overclock your CPU.
And it is trou that de extrreme has a better cooler.
But for good overclocking you need an aftermarket cooler.

@KooolaNL They’re all very similar CPU’s in terms of speed. the difference is the architecture. If you ask me the QX9650 is a rip off seeing as all you are paying for is the ability to alter the multiplier, plus the Q9650 comes in E0 stepping which the QX doesn’t and that can overclock like crazy! If you were thinking about buying a QX I would urge you to look into an i7 960 instead, cheaper and faster!

Hi,nice video, i thought you would get a better score on 3dmark06, cause my max score so far is 15,680 and my cpu is only a Q9300, 4Gb ddr2 ram1066 and a GTS250 V Card. Im thinking of buying a Qx9650. so is it worth buying ? or …
also regarding my Mainboard i cant go over 1700 fsb, do u know if theres a board that can go to 2000 fsb?

Hi there,
I have the same motherboard, with q6600, 4gb ram, have installed windows 7 and im getting a “DVMUSB (E:)” is this normal? When i go on computer and click on it, it’s as if it’s a extra usb of 220mb. I don’t know what it is? Has anyone came acros this issue? I never had this usb on any of my other boards.

@luli2o1o I got the motherboard drivers of the website, and the audio got them from a different web cus the once in asus are still beta. also is a beta bios okay to install? will it work just like the original one? i have paid a lot for this board and now i am really disappointed of this simple issue, maybe a simply update may fix it. what is a DVMUSB by the way, anyone got any ideas? thanks in advance :)

@soundkik2005 This could be your ram as an issue
make sure everything is plugged in and put the 2 man sticks in the oragnge slots first – fire it, and if that does not work, try the black slots, and then try one stick at a time…
