I bought a 16GB flash drive from eBay about 5 months ago. It was a SanDisk and it was from a US seller so I bought it, not questioning its authenticity. However, recently, I tried to drag a 6GB video into it and it said that the file is too large for the destination. "My Computer" says there is 10.2GB/14.9GB left. Sometimes, fake flash drives display a fake capacity, so how can I check the real capacity of my flash drive?

Flash media has a single file limit size of 4GB, because they are FAT32. To overcome this limit try this: http://lazybit.com/index.php/2007/03/01/how_to_get_over_the_4gb_limit_fat32
Your 10.2GB is correct, you are just trying to do something that is not allowed with the current file system on your flash drive.

Alright you plug into your xbox 360 or PS3 and it will state how much memory capacity there is.

Download test program
http://www.heise.de/ct/Redaktion/bo/downloads/h2testw_1.4.zip
After download the file, double-click on the zip file and extract it to c:\checkflash
Click on the file – h2testw.exe under c:\checkflash
Ready to test your flash drive
Click on "Select target" and then choose your flash drive location in h2testw program window.
It will take long time to test all available space. Most of the fake flash drive size is actually 1GB, 2GB, 4GB. I would suggest your select 5GB as start point. It will takes roughly 20-30mins to test.
Click on "Write + Verify"
After the test is completed, you will see "Warning" message on result window.
>> 3.7GB is your actual flash drive capacity
>> the rest is junk.
If you see similar test result, your flash drive or pen drive is fake. Good flash drive or pen drive will not have error or warning.
