I bought a 16GB flash drive from eBay about 5 months ago. It was a SanDisk and it was from a US seller so I bought it, not questioning its authenticity. However, recently, I tried to drag a 6GB video into it and it said that the file is too large for the destination. "My Computer" says there is 10.2GB/14.9GB left. Sometimes, fake flash drives display a fake capacity, so how can I check the real capacity of my flash drive?

You need to check what filesystem the drive is formatted with. Older filesystems can’t handle files larger than 2GB. You should reformat it with NTFS filesystem if you want to write huge files to it. Note that reformatting erases everything that’s on it, so back it up first.
As far as verifying it, you’ve got the right idea. Just fill it up with data, then make sure the data is correct (compare it with the original).
