My Internet Explorer 8 is provided by Mail Online. I would like to change this to be provided by Yahoo. This is because I cannot compose or send an email in my yahoo mail. Other helplines suggest that this change may resolve the problem.
Thanks.

It can be changed by going in start->run, type "gpedit.msc" (without quotes) and press enter. Then go to User Configuration\Windows Settings\Internet Explorer Maintenance\Browser User Interface and you’ll see the "Browser Title" option there.
That said, I’m sorry to tell you that the people who told you this would change anything else than the name displayed don’t have a clue of what they’re talking about.
The most likely problem you may have with Yahoo mail would be Javascript. You should try resetting your Internet Explorer settings by going in tools, internet options, advanced tab, and click reset at the bottom.
If it doesn’t fix it, try to post another question providing as much detail as possible on what happens when you try to send email or contact Yahoo support.

Here’s how you change your mail provider in Internet Explorer 8:
Open Internet Explorer 8
Go to “Tools” (top right)
Go to “Internet Options”
Click the “Programs” tab
Under Internet Programs (bottom) click “Set Programs”
Under “Choose the Program that Windows uses by default” select the first link, “Set your default programs”
A window will open up with a bunch of icons, including your installed mail clients. Select the one you usually use (for example Thunderbird). Once you click two links become visible to the right. Choose the top link, “Set this program as default”.
Click “OK”
This should fix it!
