Are you saving in .doc or .docx? Use the 2003 compatibility, and Pages should work,.

you should of bought a PC
go to http://www.zamzar.com
upload the file to it convert it to the mac format you need.
once it done it will email you the link for you to download it
and it’s free
should of got a real computer
