If you don’t have Word on your PC, you won’t be able to open it correctly. If all you need to do is print it, then on the Mac, go to File>Print and when the Print menu comes up, you should see a button that says PDF. Click on that and select Save as PDF or Print to PDF depending on what the choice is. You will get a copy of your document saved as a PDF. Now you can transfer it to the PC, and assuming you have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader on your PC (if you don’t, go to Adobe.com and download it), you can just print the PDF.
If you do have Word on the PC, but it’s an earlier version than the one on your Mac, you can do a Save As on the Mac and select an earlier version of Word to save it as. Then you should be able to print that copy from your PC.

I’m sure there’s a way without converting it to text, but that would seem to be the simplest.
Convert it to text email it, open it save it again as a doc.
If you’re like me you’ll need to do a bit of editing before saving it

you will need to save the file as a, .XML document this is
a format any computer should be able to read with the correct software.
on a pc you save the file by selecting ‘document writer’ as the printer,
then print the file which actually creates the .XML file which you can transfer,
there must be a similar process for the mac

Hey there.
This seems to be a common problem.
If you havent tried it yet…*Change the extention your saving it under.* Microsoft updated its word program, it’s automatic save is something other than DOC which not ALL computers recognize!
It may be the same for Microsoft Word to open up a program…Try saving it as a DocX or XML.
Or.
If you saved it as a (DocX) resave it as a (DOC). If this works, make sure before you send it to anyone else you change it back to a (DOC)
Keep it SIMPLE: E-mailing it to your self in the body of the E-mail.
Best Wishes!
