You really can’t do that.The only settings you can change are the Account Settings and the Privacy Settings which you can access by going to the Account Link on the top right and choosing your option from the drop down list.

No there is no solution because because it is a type of update of your friends, what your friend is doing?, what your friend is commenting? all will be shown in notification pane or news-feed window.
