I’m putting together a portfolio for my English class’ final and there I don’t want to start numbering til the 3rd page because the first two are just my name, and table of contents. Then throughout the portfolio itself there are pages I don’t want numbered as well.
How do I changed the numbering?
All I can find is how to do it on 2007

You can do it by putting a section break at each numbering-change point and setting the numbering accordingly for that section.
To create a new section, you add a section break this way:
1.Click where you want the section break to occur.
2.Click the Insert->Breaks menu item.
3.Click Next Page (usually. Sometimes another break type is called for.)
4.Click OK.
Now to give a section different headers and/or footers from its predecessor, you do this:
1.Click the View->Headers and Footers menu item.
2.To disconnect the header, on the Header and Footer toolbar that pops up, deselect the Same as Previous button (usually the fourth to the left of the Close button).
3.To disconnect the footer, do the same as Step 2, but first click in the footer.
This will let you edit the two sections’ headers and/or footers independently.
This method will still give the skipped page the page number it would have had if you printed it, making the next page (printed again) the subsequent number. If you want the pages after the skipping to be numbered differently, do this:
1. Click in the section.
2. Click the Insert->Page Number menu item.
3. Click the Format button.
4. Set the numbering as you want.
5. Click OK.
6. Back in the Page Numbers dialog box, click the CANCEL button rather than the OK in order to not put in a second page number.
Hope that helps.
