Thats a steal for the price! but you do realize that the dell coupon never will be rebated right? haha Sorry but I have never had luck with those goofy things so figure your price is 1,445.

Just pull the trigger, you wont regret it, inspirons are solid builds and truelife is brilliant. You are getting a brilliant deal.
Just a heads up… the 9 cell will stick about an inch out of the back of your laptop which will spoil the beauty of the laptop, but it also gives stunning battery life and wont fail you.
Good luck, make the right choice.
Edit: It is definitely 800mhz, but that is pretty damn fast so dont worry about it, it will be a great processor

Suggestion… tell them to kiss off the printer, dump the op-sys and update the vid-chip. You can’t play anything with a cheesy 128 mb vidcard these days. And replacing it after the laptop has been sold is what makes them a lot more money…

That is just about right for the money, not a greatdeal but not a bad one either.are you sure the FSB isnt 1066Mhz.I have a core 2 Duo and its fast.

It’s pretty good specs for that price.
I would definitely consider upgrading to Home Premium, much more features in there
Heard that Dell’s build quality is getting better too so go for it if you like it

The coupons tend to be automatic, I’ve never had an issue with any of them that I have used (and as we buy all Dells at my office, I’ve used quite a bit).
The specs on the computer are nice — you can’t go wrong w/ the Core2Duo processors at this point .. the 800MHz FSB is handy and new on most laptops (updated from 667MHz).
The display’s 1680×1050 is nice to see.. should be pretty crisp on a 15" display — actually thats what I’m looking at right now and I can tell you it looks pretty good.
It might be worth it to see how much the DVD burner option costs (shouldn’t be more than a $30 option) — just more versatility. 9Cell battery will give you decent life … if you wanted to try to shave a few dollars, you wouldn’t need the 802.11a/b/g card, you could just use the b/g card (noone uses a anymore — it’s nice, it’s fast but it’s just not used by anyone.
The hard drive is nice sized and fast, the video card is great — if you were going to game w/ it I’d spend the xtra $100 on the 8600, but otherwise, the 8400 will suit you fine for just about everything (and some gaming too). 2GB ram is good — i wouldn’t go any less on the RAM. Vista runs well w/ 2GB.
