I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 and i need a new battery because my current battery (6-cell 65 WHr) is dying.
What I would like to know is whether the 9-cell (80WHr) battery and the 6-cell (65 WHr) battery are different sizes. Is one bigger/thicker or do they look alike? Is the 9-cell battery bigger?
So if the 9-cell battery is inserted into my notebook, does it bulge or stick out at all or is it the same as the 6-cell (which i currently have)?

I’m getting conflicting answers. does it bulge out half an inch or is it the same size? (I dont care about weight)

it just has more umm lets call them batteries. insted of 6 it has 9. no it should be the same size unless it says outherwise

my dell rep told me that the 9-cell battery weighs a bit more than the 6cell one

I have a Dell with a 9-Cell, and the only difference is that the 9-Cell is longer and bulges about half an inch out from my computer.
