If there is an AMD equivalent to Intel Core 2 Quad, is it cheaper?
You’re looking for the AMD Phenom II x4
Performance is roughly equivalent to the Intel Quads, depending on your application. Price is usually a little lower, that depends on your vendor.
AMD doesn’t have anything currently for the home market that competes with Intel’s Core i7 series
Intel Core2Quad Q8200 is beaten by AMD Athlon II X4 620. Its way cheaper and better than Q8200. Its gaming performance is excellent and stays under 38C degrees under gaming load and consumes less power.
Core2Quad Q8200 costs Rs.8050/- INR AMD Athlon II X4 620 costs Rs.5400/- INR
For the price of Core2Quad you can get the AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE which beats the Intel Core i7 920 in gaming performance.
I believe the AMD Athlon II Series or the Phenom II series are great processors similar to the Quad core series.
In fact the AMD Phenom II X4 Processors are nearly up to the Core i7 9xx series.
I would have to agree with the Phenom or the Phenom II.
