So far you are getting a lot of bullshyt handed to you here. AVG will not protect you from a rogue. AVG will not protect you against Trojan /Malware attack. It will allow their download and it will not remove them. AVAST isn’t very good with Trojans either. I just tested Avast 5 and found that it wasn’t good with Trojans neither was it affective against the Koob face virus. There are thousands of variants of it.
If you want real protection that really works then get Kaspersky internet security. If your going to pay get the best to start with. If you don’t want to pay, Pick anything but AVG. Their all basically the same. Firewalls are a different story. If you want a free firewall the strongest free is Comodo firewall. Just make sure you also get a sandbox program. Never use a free AV or Firewall with out a sandbox program. When something slips past your free security, And it will, You will be glad you had a sandbox program.
Install firewall as a stand alone.

Be very careful of anyone who will tell you they traded Kaspersky for AVG. That’s like trading a new Cadillac Esscalade for a bicycle.

I had Kasperski for a while but when we took it into the computer shop and they said it wasn’t very good so they put on AVG anti virus and it works the job and things pop up before you click on a spam or bad spam website etc.

On my Windows laptop I bought Malwarebytes for the real-time protection and it works awesome. I think it’s the absolute best anti-spyware/anti-malware product. It even blocks rogues. The Anti-Spyware in AVG Free is also really good. It has blocked rogues too.

I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Three sites you can use safely.
