Which is better?
Also, about how much graphics card ram would I need to play, say, the newest Call of Duty game? Would 512 MB be fine?

Integrated cards are built right onto the motherboard, and are quite weak.
Dedicated video cards are separate, and are a good deal more powerful.
How much VRAM you need nowadays depends more on the resolution that you play at. If you’re playing at 1440×900/1280×1024 or lower, 512MB will be enough. If you’re playing at 1680×1050 or more, you should look at 1GB options.

Dedicated is significantly better for gaming. The Graphics card RAM is largely irrelevant as the limiting factor will almost always be the GPU core itself. The RAM only stores textures and other data.

Integrated graphics cards are built onto the motherboard and use main memory to store their graphics data. This can hinder the performance of the computer if there is not enough memory left for the computer’s programs.
Dedicated graphics cards are separate from the motherboard and they have their own memory to store their graphics data. This improves the performance of the computer because all main memory is left for the computer’s programs.
I am sure that 512 MB would be fine to play the newest Call of Duty game.
