When I use the "create a password reset disk" in the control panal, it says, "please insert a disk into the drive." There is one already in the drive and it is brand new. (DVD+R) What is wrong with it?

Are you sure you’ve got a DVD-rw; or maybe a CD/DVD combo (which would only read/write to CD’s, and read DVD’s?
If it’s DVD RW, you may have to resort to the DVD burn application for that: look in Start> All Programs> (your DVD brand> utilities)
