I’m thinking of learning Java in order to get a job as a computer programmer. Is this the best language to learn if I want to get a job? Would u add another language along with Java…like SQL?

Learn C. If you know C, you will have an easier time with Java, C++, C#, Java, PHP, and more as they are all based on C syntax.
Visual Basic is a good to learn as well if you are looking for work in the business sector.

Java and C# are job-marketable languages.

Start with BASIC. Learn organization of loops, etc, and flowchart structuring before you deal with powerful languages, or you will forever limit your capabilities.

in my experience i found the easier one is Visual basic.net.which includes VB.net,ASP.Net,XML.This are modern programming languages,and will sure to fetch a job for you.As for java and other languages you will have to code everything which is not required in Visual studio.You will understand what i mean if you use it…
