Unfortunately there are no free downloads of MS Word available. :(
But if you are looking for something free and just as useful, you should have a look at SSuite Office for a free word processor. It has almost all the features of Word, and looks and works the same. {except for the ribbons}. Their word processor is called WordGraph.
It is only 12 MB in size. Nice and small :) . Their software also doesn’t need to run on Java or .NET, like MS Office and so many open source software, so it makes their software very small, efficient, and easy to use. :D

There is no free Microsoft Word processor, but you could try Open Office. It is a fully functional open-source office suite which saves in all the same formats as Microsoft products. Check out http://www.openoffice.org .

Well, you could probably get away with using open office. available at http://openoffice.org Its not a microsoft product but it is compatible and especially for basic word documents, it should work just fine. Got to love professors who are so stuck in their ways…… lol. Anyway, just make sure when you save a document in openoffice, to save it as a .doc or .docx. thats Microsoft Word’s default format. Thats in a drop down in the save as screen. you professor probably will never know the difference.
