I was wondering why laptops are more expensive than desktops…you cant even get as good of video cards on a laptop as you can with a desktop…so i really dont understand…

laptops are more expensive because the components for them to run are a fraction of the size in a regular desktop, plus the use a battery and have other differences to numerous to tell

They cost more to engineer because you have to fit the same amount of stuff from a desktop into a smaller space. Also, the components in a laptop have to be more energy efficient than desktop components because they are meant to be portable…

Because they are portable. The components are built smaller and more compact in order for them all to fit in a small, portable case. When someone buys a laptop they are buying the convenience of portability – so they can transport it easily and work practically anywhere.
