So on my downstairs computer I am running 7 and recently plugged in 2 externals both sharing, but only one is really available to anyone.
My brother-in-law has a laptop with 7 which can see the shared drive just fine on the network and access it.
My laptop is a Vista (first mistake I know). When I search in the network it shows:
1) The downstairs computer
2) The two users on the computer
3) The router
Now on his computer the drives just show up. On mine if I double click on either user it opens windows media player and says I don’t have access to those users when I click on them in there. If I double click the downstairs computer icon I get the public folder and the printers, but no shared drives still.
Any suggestions on what is causing this/how to fix it?

Yea chris you answered one of my questions you said.
Oh jesus you are 13 and angsty, just be quiet and do better and school and she will have less reason to be on your case. Also stop bitching about not being able to stay over at peoples houses. You probably want to stay at a gf’s house. Awww she does nothing for you, except feed you, clothe you, probably work at a job she hates for you, buys you things, gives you things you want (such as tech to ***** online). What do you do for her? Mop the floor or take out the trash? Yeah really compares. I have an idea, stop being a bad son, get your stuff together, work hard, make her have a reason to be proud of you and stop complaining.

First of all chris I feed my self my school gave me this computer so yea dip stick oh and she don’t have a job so your salty I’m not a bad son! Oh and i buy my own clothes with the money fam nd friends give! Oh and um yea I didn’t do bad in school till after she started stressing me out. Oh and she don’t buy me stuff I had a ps3 my mom ex bf bought me and she tod him to take it back and before that i was going to get one for christmas she said no to him.
So yea get your facts right before u say stupid stuff.
