Whenever I try to connect, it says "The settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements needed to connect" or something similar to that.
Also, whenever I take the password off and leave it insecure, it connects just fine.
The only way I can connect is by using an Ethernet Cable from the router and my laptop.

This just means that when the computer saved the settings for your connection the first time you used it, it did not have a password. So when you changed the setting of your router the computer does not know what you did so it will not connect when the settings do not match. All you need to do is go into your network and internet connections then chose manage wireless networks and click your network then hit forget. When you go to connect to the router the next time it will act as if this is the very first time connecting so it will have the updated settings.
